Graduates for Growth
Graduates for Growth is part funded by Scottish Enterprise to retain graduate talent in Scotland. We believe graduates embody enthusiasm and ideas, with a proven level of intelligence; they bring added value, represent a sound investment opportunity for enterprising businesses to grow, and add impetus to the SME sector. ICASS
ICASS is a government initiative, funded by the Scottish Executive, which provides specialist advice and support for Scotland's inventors and innovative companies. A network of advisers cover the whole of Scotland providing a service that is free and completely confidential. The service includes help with developing and protecting new inventions, products, services, and processes.

Interface
Interface is a central access point for industry to Scotland's university research base, which provides information about the specialist expertise that is available at our universities. The website gives up-to-date information on the service offered which is free, rapid, confidential and available to everyone. Interface have the ability to source the appropriate expertise for you by accessing information on the knowledge, skills and facilities that exist within Scotland's universities.

ITI
ITI Scotland Ltd. is a company set up in 2003 by Scottish Enterprise with the support of the Scottish Executive to drive Scotland's ambitious plans to identify and commercialise valuable technology-based intellectual assets across three global market sectors: digital media and communications; life sciences and energy. The company has three operating divisions known as Intermediary Technology Institutes (ITIs), each focused on a market sector where Scotland has strong economic and business potential. These are known as ITI Techmedia, ITI Life Sciences and ITI Energy.

Proof of Concept
The Proof of Concept Programme supports the pre-commercialisation of leading-edge technologies emerging from Scotland's universities, research institutes and NHS Boards. It helps researchers to export their ideas and inventions from the lab to the global marketplace.

RSA
Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) is a national grant scheme administered by the Scottish Executive. It is aimed at encouraging investment and job creation mainly in the areas of Scotland designated for regional aid under European Community (EC) law (the Assisted Areas). In addition, support may be available to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in other designated areas. Businesses of all sizes can apply for RSA, whether they are Scottish-owned or owned or headquartered outside Scotland.

SCORE
The SCORE programme is designed to support R&D projects jointly undertaken between public sector research bodies (such as Higher Education Institutes (HEIs), Research Institutes, NHS Trusts) and Scottish SMEs. Under this scheme, an SME or group of SMEs with a specific technical problem or need can assign a significant part of the required scientific and technological research to a public sector research body.

Scottish Enterprise
Scottish Enterprise is Scotland's main economic development agency, funded by the Scottish Executive. Our mission is to help the people and businesses of Scotland succeed. In doing so, we aim to build a world-class economy. Our key priorities are to provide a range of high-quality services to: help new businesses get underway; support and develop existing businesses; help people gain the knowledge and skills they will need for tomorrow's jobs; and help Scottish businesses develop a strong presence in the global economy - building on Scotland's reputation as a great place to live, work and do business. As well as companies and individuals, we also work with universities, colleges, local authorities and other public sector bodies to achieve these goals.

Scottish Executive
The Scottish Executive is the devolved government for Scotland and is responsible for most of the issues of day-to-day concern to the people of Scotland, including health, education, justice, rural affairs, and transport. It manages an annual budget of more than £27 billion in the financial year 2005-2006 which is due to rise to over £30 billion in 2007-2008.

SEEKIT
The SEEKIT programme is designed to support projects that will promote co-operation in R&D and knowledge transfer between small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and the Scottish public sector science base. Applications are invited from public bodies, such as Universities, Research Institutes, Technology Transfer Organisations, NHS Trusts etc.

Shell STEP
Shell UK created Shell Step in 1986 and continues to support the programme UK wide. It is one of Shell UK's Social Investment Programmes which focus on helping young people to develop skills and achieve their potential. Shell Step is delivered via a unique partnership of Enterprise Agencies, universities and other business support organisations. Shell Step provides cost effective, short term and skilled resource to enable you to get a new or outstanding initiative off the ground.

SMART: SCOTLAND
SMART:SCOTLAND is intended to help small and medium-sized businesses to improve their competitiveness by developing new, highly innovative and commercially viable products or processes to the benefit of the national economy. Individuals and SMEs based in Scotland or planning to set up in Scotland can receive support for Technical and Commercial Feasibility Studies lasting between 6 - 18 months.
